Mark Consuelos is sharing his painful journey of grief and the emotional weight of losing his father. In an exclusive clip from the I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario podcast, the Live with Kelly and Mark co-host became emotional as he reflected on the death of his father, Saul Consuelos, who passed away after a long illness in March.

Consuelos reveals that although he knew his father’s passing was inevitable, the loss hit him harder than expected. “My father’s a mythical character to me,” he explains, opening up about the profound impact his father had on his life. “He’s the best man I’ve ever met. Everything good that I’ve glommed onto comes from him.”

In a deeply emotional moment, Consuelos admits, “I miss my dad.” It’s a realization he hadn’t shared before, acknowledging how much he misses his father’s presence in his life.

The actor, who was in the middle of tech rehearsals for Fallen Angels on Broadway when his father passed, had to compartmentalize his grief while working. “It was a welcomed distraction,” he says, but the reality of his father’s death hit hardest during a recent family memorial.

“I’m going to miss just giving him a hug, holding his hand, and just laughing with him,” Consuelos confesses, his voice breaking as he expresses the simple joys he now realizes he’ll never experience again.

The actor also revealed how he honors his father before each performance. “I do look up in the house every now and again. I kind of picture him. I think about him before I go on stage.”
