On a recent episode of iHeartRadio’s podcast “I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario”, Consuelos shared the secret to their long-lasting marriage, crediting advice from his father. “One of the great things my dad taught me was… ‘Find somebody who’s going to pull you up, make you better,’” he revealed. “And I did. I was lucky enough to find somebody like that.”

The couple’s fans have followed their romance from the very beginning. Consuelos reflected on their soap opera days: “They watched us fall in love on a soap, and they saw these two characters, like, playing boyfriend and girlfriend… and yeah, we really were in love.” Now, decades later, the duo continues to share their lives publicly, hosting Live with Kelly and Mark together.
Mark and Kelly are parents to three children: Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 23. On their 30th anniversary, Ripa described marrying Mark as “the best thing [she’s] ever done,” while Consuelos said the decision “wasn’t even a decision—it was destined to happen.”
Previously, Ripa spoke about the challenges of marriage, noting on Live with Kelly and Ryan Seacrest: “Relationships are not sprints—it’s a marathon. There’s going to be mile 24 when you feel like quitting, but you just push through.”
From their first meeting on a soap set to decades of parenting and morning show hosting, Mark and Kelly’s story illustrates how love, respect, and shared growth can sustain a marriage through decades of life, fame, and family.
