On the latest episode of Live With Kelly & Mark, Kelly Ripa revealed the heartwarming—and surprising—Mother’s Day meal she shared with her husband, Mark Consuelos, and their youngest son, Joaquin Consuelos. The 23-year-old Broadway star, currently starring in Death of a Salesman, surprised Kelly by texting her backstage with an unconventional Mother’s Day request. “I thought it’d be fun if we had McDonald’s for your birthday,” Joaquin texted, only to quickly correct himself, “I mean Mother’s Day, you know what I mean!”

Despite being a far cry from the usual gourmet family meals, Kelly embraced the surprise with a big smile. “So, we had McDonald’s,” she laughed. “I had a Big Mac and large fries!” She admitted it had been years since the family indulged in fast food. “It’s so unlike us,” she said, emphasizing, “It was delicious. I had the best time.”

In true Kelly fashion, she also delighted in how little clean-up was involved, mimicking the simple act of throwing her McDonald’s wrappers straight into the trash with joy. “You know what cleanup was? Trash! Done!” she exclaimed. Even Mark joined in on the fun, playfully teasing Kelly for setting the table despite the fast food.

Mark added a humorous note of his own, questioning the authenticity of the Quarter Pounder. “I have to weigh that,” he joked, “I’m not sure it’s a Quarter Pounder.” Kelly agreed, commenting that both the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder seemed smaller than she remembered. “Maybe we’re bigger, and it used to seem bigger,” she mused.

For Kelly, this rare indulgence was a departure from her usual healthy diet, which includes green juice, salads, and nutritious desserts. Still, she made it clear that she wouldn’t trade the memories made that day for anything.
