As she nears her 45th anniversary on the show, the 68-year-old television personality shared an update about her plans with the long-running game show, admitting she has been contemplating stepping away. Following Pat Sajak’s retirement from the show in 2023, Vanna said she had also thought about leaving at the same time. However, she later revealed she didn’t feel “ready” to go, and she recently reiterated that sentiment.

Vanna, who has been a beloved figure on Wheel of Fortune since 1982, expressed that she is still content in her role and is happy with how things are going. “At this point, I’m happy with my job, I’m continuing on Wheel, and we will take one year at a time and go from there,” she told E! News in an interview.

The star, who signed a two-year contract extension when Sajak retired, says she would only leave the show if a perfect opportunity presented itself. Now working with Ryan Seacrest, who replaced Sajak as host, Vanna remarked that she enjoys the chemistry with Seacrest, noting, “You never know what’s around the corner.” She also shared that she is taking things one day at a time, open to new experiences if they come her way.

Reflecting on her time on Wheel of Fortune, Vanna admitted that after so many years of flipping letters, there isn’t anything else she would rather do. “Honestly, I think I want to just play golf when I retire,” she said with a laugh.

When Pat Sajak retired, Vanna was asked about the future of the show, and she expressed that she was not ready to leave. Now, nearly a year after Sajak’s departure, Vanna is still feeling fulfilled in her role. She has been working alongside Ryan Seacrest, who joined the show as host in season 42. Seacrest has earned praise for his seamless transition as the new face of Wheel of Fortune, and Vanna has complimented him for being himself on the show. “He has great energy, and he wants to do a great job,” she added.

Vanna’s legendary presence on Wheel of Fortune has made her a household name, and she continues to enjoy her job, calling it her “home away from home.” The show’s daily positive atmosphere, especially seeing people win, has always been a highlight for Vanna. “There’s not a better job,” she said.

As for retirement, Vanna shared that she isn’t rushing into any decisions but is grateful for everything Wheel of Fortune has given her over the years. “It’s been a great ride,” she concluded, hinting that when the time comes, she will be ready for whatever the future holds.
