was born on august 9 2005 to the notorious casey anthony the daughter of george and cindy anthony while kaylee was born to a seemingly ordinary american family her mom casey was far from ordinary from an early age casey was a troublesome kid especially when she was in high school casey was such a rebel that in her final year she hid from her parents that she had skipped school pretty much the whole year it was only a few days before her graduation that her parents found out she had missed several classes and failed a lot

of her credits so she couldn’t graduate you would think that her parents would punish her for such a big lie right nope instead they hid it from her close friends and family and even organized a graduation party for her talk about being parents of the year but casey’s drama didn’t end there at the age of 19 casey’s parents started to notice something different about their daughter she had put on a lot of weight so her mother cindy became suspicious that she was pregnant her parents pressured her for answers and casey denied it claiming

that she hadn’t been with anyone in that way before finally months later casey came clean to her parents that she was pregnant when they asked her who the father was she gave them a couple of vague answers at first she said that it was her then fiance jessie grund but when jesse found out about casey’s pregnancy he denied being the father because the math didn’t add up you see kaylee was born in august and jessie had only begun dating her in january so two plus two equals well it’s not equal to nine months that’s for sure but because he truly

yard that their car had been impounded this was the car that casey had driven off with nearly a month ago when she had gotten into a fight with her parents george went over to the tow yard to collect the car when he got there he was completely shocked by what he found inside the car was casey’s purse bundled up with kaylee’s toys and her car seat but something else made him completely freak out the car smelled awful having worked in the force for several years george was a retired cop who found that smell eerily familiar he had come across

15 2021 31 days after kaylee was allegedly taken cindy anthony made a 9-1-1 call to an operator based at orange county sheriff’s office cindy was shaken as she spoke to the 9-1-1 operator her voice trembling with emotion at the thought of her granddaughter was at the mercy of a stranger she made it clear to the operator there was someone at her home right now that needed to be arrested but there’s something else she told the operator that was even more chilling it took her months ago my daughter’s been looking for i told you my daughter

was missing for a month i just found her today but i can’t find my granddaughter she just admitted to me that she’s been trying to find her herself there’s something wrong i found my daughter’s car today and it smells like there’s been a dead body in the damn car it was clear from the start that cindy didn’t trust a word her daughter was telling her about the disappearance of kaylee where in the world could she be and why was the trunk of the car smelling like a body when casey got on the phone with the operator her behavior

casey into custody now you would expect a mother whose child has been missing for 31 days to be completely freaked out right i mean kaylee could be anywhere hungry freezing and alone but that didn’t seem to faze casey if anything she seemed completely relaxed during the entire time she was questioned according to casey here’s how her daughter went missing 31 days ago when she was allegedly kidnapped by zanita the supposed nanny that had been looking after kaylee she allegedly left work from universal studios to pick up her

daughter kaylee like every other normal day when she arrived at the apartment that kaylee was reportedly at she knocked on the door but nobody responded desperate she tried to call zanita’s phone but the operator said it was out of service but the detective leading the case yuri malik wasn’t convinced by casey’s story because it didn’t match what was written in her signed statement even stranger was the fact that despite mentioning zanita had babysat kaley for over a year none of casey’s family members had ever seen or heard of her

well it turns out that casey had lied about a lot of things first of all she told the cops that she had a nanny zanita nicknamed zanny zanny the nanny for real clearly casey thought quickly on her feet while being interrogated by the cops casey also lied to the cops that she had been working at universal studios and when the investigators eventually asked her to take them to the offices where she supposedly worked she took them on a wild goose chase around the universal studios offices she walked them to one end of the hall turned

around laughed and admitted to the detectives that she hadn’t worked there for years she also lied about the position she held because as it turns out casey didn’t even work as an event coordinator at universal like she had been telling everyone she had only worked there as a vendor on july 16 2008 the police had no other option but to arrest casey on grounds of providing false statements to the police hindering a criminal investigation and neglecting her daughter at first the judge denied casey the opportunity for bail but on

july 22nd 2008 the judge set a bail price at a hefty five hundred thousand dollars fortunately for casey after spending one month in jail her bail was posted by leonard padilla a reality tv bounty hunter that was looking to use casey’s knowledge about her child to lead detectives into discovering where her child was once padilla had posted bail he was shocked at case’s behavior when it came to finding her child he found her to be uncaring and self-absorbed padilla couldn’t understand why casey was doing so little

to help the police discover the whereabouts of her daughter it didn’t make any sense at all when padilla revealed this to his followers that casey seemed reluctant to help kaylee’s search investigations the media and the public were angered by her unusual behavior here she was without a care in the world yet there was a poor terrified and helpless child whose whereabouts were still unknown on august 30th 2008 the courts reversed casey’s bond because she was arrested for reportedly stealing checks and cashing them at the same time

public and media pressure was mounting up on the case and on october 14 2008 casey was charged with first degree murder she was also charged with four counts of providing false information to the detectives manslaughter and mistreating a child to respond to allegations that casey was a cold heartless mother who didn’t care about her missing child casey’s lawyer jose baez told the public to remain patient as there was a reason why her client was so quiet he was confident that once casey told the people her side of the

story it would make sense why she behaved the way she did but things seemed to hit a snag for casey’s defense when on october 24th 2008 a report was released by investigation specialists who examined casey’s car they discovered that a strand of hair was found in the trunk of the car this strand was really similar to the hair found in one of kaylie’s brushes at the anthony residence what’s scarier was that the hair in the trunk showed signs of decomposition meaning that kaylie’s body had been there for days on october 28th

casey faced the court through her head lawyer jose baez she pleaded not guilty to all the charges brought against her as the search for carly continued the thought she might still be alive somewhere slowly began to fade from the minds of both cindy anthony and the general american public and sadly their fears were confirmed when a meter reader by the name of roy cronk called the police to inform them that he had seen something suspicious dumped in a forest right next to the anthony residence when he first got in touch with the police he

was advised to provide his information to the tip line unfortunately he did not receive a call back from the sheriff’s office on the second attempt once he gave the sheriff’s office a call his call was taken by two police officers he went on to inform them that he had seen a skull right next to a gray bag this time the area was searched but they didn’t find anything but on december 11 2008 when cronk called the police once more they decided to conduct a more thorough search of the area and that’s when they discovered the remains of a

girl who was wrapped in a trash bag the remains were identified as kaylie’s during the search detectives also discovered duct tape hanging from a piece of hair that was found on her after research was carried out for the next four days detectives discovered several bones in the forested region right where the remains were spotted poor kaley on april 13th 2009 the world was shocked when the prosecution seeking justice for kaylee’s death announced they were going to pursue capital punishment in the trial of casey anthony

once the trial started the prosecution presented over 400 pieces of evidence several tests were conducted on the car and kaylie’s body the specialists who carried out these tests were able to find evidence that a body had been decomposing in the car in october of 2009 investigation specialists released a 700-page report that was released into kaylee anthony’s murder some of the most shocking pieces of evidence found included strange google searches on a computer that was accessible to casey anthony some disturbing searches on the

computer included how to make chloroform and neck breaking according to the investigation this software was used by the prosecution to show that casey had carried out multiple searches on the word chloroform according to the software casey carried out these searches a total of 84 times suggesting that casey had been making plans to end kaylee’s life unfortunately for the prosecution a flaw was later revealed with the software showing that it had misread forensic data and that there was only one search term for chloroform also

according to information released by detectives the crime scene where kaylee was discovered also had strange evidence of murder kaylee was found duct taped over the mouth another strange piece of evidence was that a blanket from kaylee’s grandparents home was also found at the crime scene [Music] the trial took place at the orange county courthouse the case was presided over by judge belvin perry during the opening statements of the trial the prosecution described what they believed was the actual disappearance and murder

of kaylee anthony led by prosecutor linda drain burdick the prosecution alleged that casey anthony had evil intentions to get rid of her daughter so that she could no longer be a mom and enjoy her life the prosecutors believed that casey anthony had bought chloroform and used it to make kaylee unconscious she then put duct tape over her nose and mouth to keep her quiet as she ended her life casey then put kaylee’s body in the trunk of her car for a couple of days before later dumping it next to the anthony residence according to the

prosecution anthony was a party girl who did this just so that she could have the freedom to party and avoid any personal responsibilities that might stop her from enjoying her freedom on the other hand casey’s defense had another side of the story that they wanted the public to know jose baez claimed that kaylee had accidentally drowned in the family’s swimming pool on june 16 2008.

 according to the defense kaylee’s body was found by george anthony who warned casey that she would spend the rest of her life in prison because of neglecting her child casey then proceeded to cover up kaylee’s death this is why the defense argues that casey moved on with her life and did not report the incident for over 31 days baez believes that casey’s habit or ability to hide her pain was brought about by the years of being mistreated by her father and pretending like nothing ever happened according to the defense casey anthony had been

mistreated by her father george since she was eight years old the defense also claimed that casey’s brother lee had made advances towards her too baez was also skeptical about rory cronk the man who discovered kaylee he believed that cronk moved the bones from another location baez also believed that the investigation was compromised because the investigative team had been pushed by the media to fuel the story of a child’s murder rather than the fact that kaylee died from accidental drowning baez however did admit that casey had

lied about having a nanny called zanita who took care of her daughter and the reason she did that was that she was scared about being hounded by the law and the public during the closing arguments of the trial which were carried out on july 3rd and 4th of 2011 the prosecution stated this as their final closing statement when you have a child that child becomes your life this case is about the clash between that responsibility and the expectations that go with it and the life that casey anthony wanted to have he also mentioned that the smell

in her car trunk which was identified by her father the impound guy and one of the investigators the prosecution also talked about how casey consistently lied to a point where her lies weren’t adding up for one casey lied about having a nanny which was puzzling to the jury and police were never able to locate the nanny authorities did however find a woman named zenadia fernandez gonzalez but she denied ever knowing who casey was or babysitting kaylee as far as the defense’s closing arguments baez argued that there was a lot of inconsistencies

when it came to the forensic evidence provided by the prosecution he claimed that a lot of it was based on fantasy rather than reality he informed the jury that the prosecution wanted them to see that any stains in anthony’s car trunk were actually caused by kayley’s body but according to bayez these stains were formed merely from a trash bag that was left in the trunk he also noted that the prosecutors were trying really hard to make his client casey anthony look like a party girl and a liar because they hadn’t built a strong case around the

evidence that was presented according to the defense kaylee drowning was the only explanation in this entire case that made sense the defense even brought forth evidence showing photos of kaylee opening the glass sliding doors of anthony’s residence on her own they has also noted that there were no child safety locks in the anthony residence and according to both cindy and george’s testimonies casey could easily get out of the house despite cindy admitting that kaylee wouldn’t be able to put the ladder on the side of the pool to climb up bayez

told the jury that cindy might have accidentally left the ladder up the previous night when she denied doing this beya’s countered that she might have felt so guilty for kaylie’s death if she admitted to the mistake the defense pleaded with the jurors not to pass their verdict based on emotions rather on the evidence that was presented to them the strategy behind that is if you hate her if you think she’s a lying no good [ __ ] then you’ll start to look at the evidence in a different light this was an accident

that snowballed out of control on july 4th 2011 the jury kicked off deliberations on the case by july 5th they had come to their verdict they determined that casey anthony was not guilty of killing kaylie however she was found guilty of providing false information to the police this included lying about leaving kaylee all alone in an apartment and forcing the law to pursue the non-existent babysitter on july 7 2011 the judge ordered that casey’s sentences should be served consecutively stating that the law enforcement wasted a lot of time energy

and manpower in the search for cayley through casey’s lies yes the search had gone on for several months to find kaylee marie-anthony during the sentencing the judge gave casey one year in county jail and a fine of a thousand dollars for each of the four counts of providing false information to the police officers because she had served 1043 days in county jail however she received this as a credit for the one year and she was released on july 17 2011.

 after getting her freedom casey moved to florida to start a new life despite her not guilty verdict casey anthony wasn’t out of the woods yet in the eyes of the public she is still seen as a killer who got away with taking her daughter’s life as recently as 2021 a woman poured a drink on the now 35 year old casey in west palm beach florida casey moved there after the popularity of her trial finally died down according to casey the woman poured a drink on her over an argument about an ex-boyfriend they were both dating at the same time interestingly when the reporting officer

asked if casey wanted to file a restraining order the 35 year old said she didn’t want to however she did mention that the lady in question had been harassing her for years in 2020 the news came out that casey intends to start her own private investigations company in a 2017 interview she claimed to be working with the lead investigator for her defense patrick mckenna who was also working on the oj simpson case there are some interesting similarities between the two cases right who knows if she plans to go ahead with it i can’t see a whole lot of
